A Beginning

This has to start incredibly earnestly. Making things is hard. I could blame the State of Things. It's Dead Internets infected by machines that feed on art and rage. It's living under a Meritocracy, brutal social conditions antithetical to creativity.  It's the World pressed against the glass, humming in my pocket, crouched in my ear. But really, making things is hard because I'm afraid to fail. To make something sub-par or derivative or embarrassing, to pour parts of myself away into something that simply doesn't matter. This is the worst possible mindset for pursuing creativity.

This blog, these offerings, are an attempt to fight that destructive urge and instead make something, even though it's hard.
